Mc8 began as a family brand developed by Steve McMillan. After retirement, Steve focused on his hobbies and used his skills to provide to others. With one of these skills being barbecuing, there was now time to devote to the practice.

While smoking meats was still a frequent exercise, the concentration shifted to a new interest, BBQ Sauce. The experimentation began as Steve worked to develop the perfect sauce to compliment any meat. Considering he shared a home with the strawberry capital of Texas, Poteet, it was only fitting that this sauce had a strawberry component. Using the fresh, locally grown strawberries from a farm down the road, along with other desired ingredients, the process began. It was not long until the sauce was perfected and bottled, and the original Strawberry Habanero BBQ Sauce was born.

The “Mc8” Brand is a simple yet sentimental name. “Mc” comes from our family name McMillan, and the 8 represents our family number. This number is represented in many ways throughout our family, from baseball numbers to “McMillan” having 8 letters. The number 8 resembles an infinity sign, symbolizing forever lasting. This is what the brand stands for, and that is the Mc8 family bond.
